Indoor Hydroponic Farm in Japan's Miyagi Prefecture

When in your favorite grocery store’s produce section, looking for the hydroponic lettuce for tonight’s salad, do you ever think about where it may have come from?

Well, we happened to find out about the main source, which is the world’s largest LED hydroponic farm, that used to be a former SONY factory site in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan; about 40 miles from Tokyo.

The plant where some of the world’s most recognized electronics were once produced, now houses and produces about 10,000 heads of the hydro green, in an LED saturated environment.

Hydroponics are becoming more popular in grocery chains like Whole Foods, who are supplied by Gothic Greens Farms, based in Brooklyn, New York.

Take a mini-tour through the factory and get more details here: http://bit.ly/1nylYu1
