Are Floating Homes Better Than Mobile Homes?

Many of us have heard of "pod homes" or "mini-homes" but does "floating prefabs" ring a bell?

We swam across this article on the web, about floating prefabricated homes on the River Kwai, in Kanchanaburi, Thailand and this alternate style of habitat is definitely worth noting.

Seeing this posed the question, "are floating homes better than mobile homes" because these "X-Float units",

as they are referred to, offer a similar sense of mobility but with more of a solid foundation and more modern design.
